Science and Sniffles.

Saturday:
This day was the day I woke up with (what I thought) a hangover would be. No... I did not go out partying the night before... Due to some cold-like symptoms I decided to take a Nyquil at about 1130pm and then proceeded to wake up at 830am the next day... I don't quite think the Nyquil had time to wear off by the time I woke up in the morning because I woke up and I felt like I had been hit by a train... twice. I was not feeling 100% to say the very least. The reason I woke up so dang early was because my friends and I decided we wanted to go to Parque de las Ciencias (Science Museum in Granada). It. was. AWESOME!!! To me at least.. but I'm kind of a nerd for museums anyway. So for once, my friends and I made it to where we intended to go on the first time!!! We celebrated with high-5's all around. Once we had all paid for our tickets, we were given a map.... my friends and immediately thought to ourselves, "Great... another map that won't make sense" and then proceeded to hide ourselves while we all tried to figure out exactly where we were. Ja. Our first stop was the Energy/Electricity exhibit. I can describe this exhibit in exactly 1 word: BORING!.. we were literally the only people in the exhibit, and because of this, the woman in charge of the place decided to take it upon herself to give us a personalized tour... We couldn't escape her... she took us from one thing to the next and we were so terribly bored. Once we managed to get away, we wandered upstairs to an interesting space exhibit where we had quite a bit of fun taking pictures and other mischievous things. :) After the E/E exhibit we walked over to the "main" building where they had a taxonomy exhibit (awesome! pics on FB) as well as a body exhibit and another exhibit I didn't understand the theme of...but before we could actually enjoy these exhibits, we had to get through the door first. So me, being the front runner I am, ( I walk fast apparently... I think it was just because excited) went for the door only to find that it wouldn't open.. I pushed, I pulled and nothing. I could see people in there so I thought I wasn't doing it the right way (Europeans do things funny sometimes)... I continued to push and pull and as I was pushing and pulling an older woman was walking towards me and pointing at the door I was fighting against... thinking this was encouragement to continue on my ways, I did only to have my friend Sam walk up to another door and open it with ease. I (of course) felt like an idiot and my friends enthusiastically confirmed this feeling. After we/I conquered the door we headed straight to the Taxidermy room. The taxidermy room was So. Freaking. Cool! there were tons of awesome animals like lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, wart hogs, and more!! it was so trippy though... we could not figure out how they were all staying up (see pics on FB/above). After the Taxidermy room we went to the human body exhibit... a lot of the pictures I took in there were dedicated to Brittany and I think it's safe to say that a lot of them will probably serve as study materials for her as well. We then proceeded to this random room... I couldn't really catch the theme of the room, but then again I was still a little "hungover... hung over?"(<-idk) Inside that room was a wall where people are supposed to write on a piece of paper one thing they are around on a daily basis that will most likely deteriorate our health... naturally... I wrote "Humo de tabaco".. basically cigarette smoke.. that stuff really is everywhere.. I'm probably going to come back with a spot on my lung... nbd though... my sister is an aspiring PA and my roommate is an aspiring doctor... I think I'll be fine. After we had finished there we wandered over to the butterfly house and just had a heck of a time... there were butterflies everywhere... they were Kamikaze-ing like crazy and there was even the cutest little boy who was actually afraid of them... I laughed at him because he was such a sissy. LOL Once we had finished with the butterflies we headed over to the bird show and watched a few hawks and falcons do a few tricks.. it would have been a lot cooler if my head hadn't have felt like it was in an iron vice. The bird show was the last activity we did before we all parted our ways to eat lunch.. I was so relieved when I got home.. I ate me a big helpin' of MC's spaghetti and took me a nice little siesta.. it was pretty much the perfect siesta minus the fact that I had to shove toilet paper up my nose because my nose was clogged and I couldn't sniff the snot back up. After my nap I was pretty much done for for the rest of the day... I just lounged about the house and had myself a little bit of a lot of a lazy day.

Sunday:
I literally did nothing today... I hung out with MC in the living room.. turns out we are both sick.. we just can't stop bonding. I got to talk with the 'rents and little sis (Limp) on good ole Skype.. Limp had some exciting news to share with me... I had to break the news to her that she was not going to be getting a snake from Spain.. She took it pretty good. The 'rents made the comment that I haven't blogged in a long time, when really it' sonly been a day and a half... crazy people. Going to Paris this weekend (hopefully). Have to give a presentation (in Spanish) onWednesday, which I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a panic attack for, but it's fine... my face can only turn so red.

Dos besos,
Courtney
